How much do foreign aid workers get paid?

I currently work in a fairly well paid job, and want to keep a base in the UK (London preferably) so I need a reasonable salary, but I'm very interested in becoming a foreign aid/relief worker. I realise it won't pay very well, but would like some sort of idea so that I can make plans. Thanks
